Movember and Veterans’ Mental Health

Movember is more than just a month of moustaches—it’s a movement dedicated to transforming men’s mental and physical health.
Since starting in Melbourne in 2003, Movember has raised over $837 million globally for men’s health initiatives (World Metrics, 2023).At GoodMind Therapeutics, we’re proud to support this cause.
Movember highlights issues that are central to our work – improving men’s mental health, reducing stigma, and providing access to innovative care.
Movember’s focus on mental health also extends to veterans, a group that faces unique challenges. Australian veterans are 21% more likely to die by suicide than their civilian counterparts (AIHW, 2020).
November drives awareness and funding for programs that help veterans reconnect with their purpose and build a stronger future.

How You Can Get Involved

1. Grow and Show Your Mo
A moustache is a conversation starter. Growing one during Movember raises awareness and sparks discussions about men’s mental health.
2. Move for Movember
Take on the challenge to move 60 kilometres in November, representing the 60 men lost to suicide every hour globally.
3. Start Conversations
Support Movember campaigns or create your own to contribute directly to men’s health initiatives.
